Summer at City: Rigorous Instruction & Summer Camp Fun
We are super excited about our 2023 summer school! We are committed to continue providing academic enrichment to our students throughout the summer, but we will not skimp on the FUN. Field trip Fridays are back! We are also planning a variety of fun-filled activities for the afternoon camp as we will have themed weeks such as: Olympic, Mystery, Art, Character, Animal, STEAM and Water.
Independent school teachers are running the program’s academic component in the summer, which means families need to commit to regular attendance for the summer school program. We plan on using the academic component of the summer program to support continued learning and work against the summer academic slide. City Academy is thrilled to have a robust summer program and are delighted to have a talented faculty working with students this summer.
The Summer school program will run for seven weeks beginning Monday June 5th and ending on Friday, July 21st. We will close on Monday June 19th as well as both Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th.

Block I: Academic Enrichment (8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
The summer curriculum focus is in the areas of reading, writing, math and STEAM. City Academy summer teaching staff members instruct morning blocks.
Block II: Mini Camps and More (12:30 to 5:00 p.m.)
Afternoon camps include sports, arts and crafts, outdoor programs, and other project-based activities. All program activities are age/ developmentally appropriate and based on student interests. Programs will be facilitated by Extended Day staff, and volunteers.
Funday Friday
All students (3/4 year old class stays on campus) participate in recreational activities both on and off campus for the day. Please be mindful of weather forecasts – as to dress your child(ren) appropriately. *No morning classroom instruction takes place on these days!*
The summer school day schedule is as follows:
7:30 – 8:15 — Before Care/Breakfast
8:15 – 8:30 — Assemble for Class
8:30 – 11:30 — Academic Instruction
11:30 – 12:30 — Lunch/Recreation
12:30 – 5:00 — Camps Activities
5:00 – 5:30 — Clean Up/Dismissal
*Please note summer dismissal is at 5:30 p.m.

Summer School Registration Information
Summer at City registration is NOW OPEN! Registration will take place through ALMA this year. The deadline to register is Thursday, May 4, and spots are limited so don’t delay! For instructions on how to sign up, please visit the Summer at City help site.
Summer Tuition Information:
- Tier 1: $725 per family
- Tier 2: $875 per family
- Tier 3: $975 per family
Tiers are based on family-income levels, as submitted for the 2023-24 school year. There is a $100 deposit that is due by May 4. Families will then receive an invoice for the remaining balance to be paid in full by May 19.
