1st Grade Language Arts Teacher

“My passion is truly teaching and learning. I get excited to think that I’m helping to mold our future. I look at my scholars and I see doctors, lawyers, teachers and all other professions that help create a balanced society. I’m ecstatic to be joining the City Academy family and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Celest joined the team in 2020 as the Kindergarten Language Arts Teacher, and in 2021 became the 1st Grade Language Arts Teacher. She grew up in St. Louis, living in the North City area for seventeen years, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Missouri State University. Prior to coming to City Academy she taught for nine years, including five years at North Side Community School. She has a 3-year-old daughter Rylee, who also joined the City Academy family in 2020 as a student. In her free time, Celest enjoys gardening, trying out new recipes, watching football (GO COWBOYS!) and shopping.
