Library and Media Director

“The library is a space where kids can learn about the world around them and begin to see possibility. I am genuinely interested in organizing a successful learning environment for children by collaborating with others to inspire, guide and build a foundation for children to become curious, active and independent lifelong learners.”

Marybeth Huff’s teaching career began in Japan where she taught English to elementary and middle school students. Upon her return to the United States, Marybeth continued teaching in the School District of Clayton before she joined the faculty at City Academy in 2007. She taught first and third grade before transitioning into her current role as the Library and Media Director. Through the dedication of Marybeth’s one-on-one approach to reading and literacy, every City Academy scholar has a personalized literacy experience. She manages the school’s library, collaborates with teachers, uses existing and emerging technologies to ensure 24/7 access to library services and empowers students to be enthusiastic readers.

Marybeth is a member of the Association of Independent School Librarians, the Missouri Association of School Librarians and the International Society for Technology in Education.
