Third Grade Wax Museum Project
March 24, 2020

Every year, City Academy’s third grade class completes a Wax Museum project. Each scholar chooses a historical figure to research and eventually portray in the living Wax Museum. To prepare for the presentation, students write a research paper, draw a portrait, and create a display backdrop about their chosen historical figure.

Volunteer coaches met with the students leading up to the Wax Museum to give them an opportunity to practice their public speaking and tips on their presentations. On Thursday, March 12, City Academy was transformed into the Wax Museum and scholars’ families, faculty, staff, and other students were invited to tour and learn more about Dorothea Lange, Buzz Aldrin, Harriet Tubman, Katherine Johnson, and many more interesting people from history. This years’ Wax Museum performers did a wonderful job!
