On May 27, the Taylor family of Enterprise Rent-A-Car generously made a $1 million gift to City Academy! This gift will endow scholarships for five students every year. Scholarship is the foundation of our school and the Taylor family’s leadership will allow us to increase the number of children we serve.
Since our founding year, the Taylor Family has supported City Academy’s mission to help children in our underserved urban communities overcome barriers with determination, hard work and a support system of exceptional educators and advocates with bold expectations.
“My father instilled in all of us a strong belief in giving back to the community, especially here in our home town of St. Louis,” Jo Ann Taylor Kindle, Taylor’s daughter and president of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, said in a statement. “These donations complement past contributions we’ve made to organizations that meet many community needs and expand opportunities for youth. We see an even greater need today to continue supporting organizations that make life better in our underserved communities — especially for the young people in those communities who are St. Louis’ future.”
