City Academy’s student-to-teacher ratio is 7:1, and we utilize a specialist model of instruction. This approach enables our teachers to focus on one subject area as content experts.

Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten

City Academy offers two early learning classrooms, a Preschool room (3 and 4-year-olds), and Junior Kindergarten (4 and 5-year-olds, often called Pre-Kindergarten).

Secondary Placement Support

Since our first graduating class in 2005, 207 of our 295 alumni (70%) have matriculated to an independent secondary school in St. Louis. Over the last five years, 87% of our 6th grade graduates were accepted into these schools. In order to achieve these successes, we begin preparing students as early as 4th grade for their next steps beyond our campus.

Fishing Club

Early & Extended Day

Extended Day programming is offered to all City Academy students, every day, at no additional cost to families. During this time, students participate in a range of enrichment opportunities based on their unique interests. On any given day, you may find City Academy students learning to bake, building robotics, playing tennis, taking a leadership course, and much more.

Forest Park Playscape

Summer Program

City Academy’s Summer Program offers a unique balance of education and enrichment for students who are enrolled at City Academy for the following school year. In the morning hours, all students attend academic classes. After lunch, students engage in arts, outdoor education, sports tournaments, social and emotional development exercises, water play and field trips.
