7:00 a.m.
City Academy opens for breakfast. Students move to the field or gym (depending on the weather) at 7:45.

7:55 a.m.
All City Academy students gather to recite “My Pledge of Allegiance to Me” by Edna J. Hanks-Pipes. Typically, one class is chosen to lead and other students repeat the lines. On Fridays, we sing the pledge!

8:05 a.m.
Morning Meetings convene as part of our Responsive Classroom approach to promote enthusiasm and cooperation for the day ahead.

9:00 a.m.
Specialist classes begin as students move in small groups to art, science, mathematics, physical education/health, Spanish, and music.

10:00 a.m.
Students enjoy morning snack and recess on our turf field.

11:30 a.m.
Lunch is prepared in the school kitchen and served in several different shifts. Many faculty and staff members sit with students at their table.

12:00 p.m.
Students rotate through various special classes, including violin, music, Spanish, art, and physical education.

3:30 p.m.
The school day ends and Extended Day activities begin. Extended Day is included at no extra cost and allows parents/guardians to pick up their child as late as 6:00 p.m. Students in Extended Day may enroll in 8-week mini classes such as Step Team, baking, robotics, martial arts, tennis, theater, entrepreneurship, Girl Scouts, and more.

6:00 p.m.
City Academy closes.
