Supervision Activities
Students in Supervision will be able to choose between activities such as Homework Hall, Board Games, Outdoor Fun, Gym Play, Karaoke, and Movie Fridays (parents do NOT need to register for these choices).
In addition, students in Supervision can register to participate in one of City Academy’s “premiere” after school programs, depending on their grade level. During the third quarter, those options will be Girl Scouts, Step Team, and Tennis & Life Skills.

Programming Activities
Students in Program will be able to select specific program to register for that they are interested in. Students in Programs should be picked up as soon as their program ends. On days a student does not have a program, they need to be picked up by 4:00 p.m. Please note that Step Team and Boys to Men Academy will continue through Q3 with those students that registered for Q2.

Academic Excellence Study Hall
Academic Excellence Study Hall provides an opportunity for students to focus on completing assignments, catching up on missed work, or preparing for upcoming lessons in a structured and supportive environment. During this time, students will be given the time and resources to develop better time management, organizational skills, and accountability by providing a consistent routine. The quiet setting allows for focused, distraction-free learning, improving productivity and confidence. Additionally, it encourages independence and responsibility, building habits that benefit students throughout their academic journey and beyond.

Grind Hard Youth Training and Development
Sessions will consist of athletic training that focuses on the basic fundamentals of calisthenics, running technique, proprioception with a foundation built on competition and sportsmanship.

Voices in Action
Are you ready to capture the hearts and minds of an audience? In Voices in Action, you’ll step into the world of Readers Theater, drama, and skits to build confidence, express creativity, and explore history
Scholars will take on roles in engaging scripts and learn performance techniques. They’ll develop skills to confidently speak and perform in front of an audience. Along the way, they’ll explore historical and creative storytelling. At the end of the quarter, scholars will showcase their talents with a final performance for families and friends! This club is designed for fluent readers or those aspiring to improve their reading fluency and performance skills. Commitment and enthusiasm are key!

Jr. Voices in Action
Reader Theater, drama and skits for emerging leaders in EC. Looking for a way to grow your voice and use it to inspire an create? Join Junior Voices in Action! Just like our older counterparts, we will learn some history. Students will learn how to play roles in Reader Theater skits and put on a performance at the end of the quarter. This is a club for the outspoken, and growing readers who has the ability to read a simple script at their grade level or above.

Bejeweled 2
Bejeweled 2 is a class to make jewelry projects. This quarter’s focus is on wood and clay beads. Students will sculpt, paint, and bake the components to create jewelry pieces, which may include earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and more. Participants should make and complete up to 3 different pieces each week, culminating with a unique jewelry collection and skills to continue creating beyond the end of the program. This requires moderate eye-hand coordination, patience with practicing techniques, and working with small details.

Money, Money, Money – Real Estate Investing
Students will gain foundational knowledge through practical activities and creativity. Opera Theatre of St. Louis – Make a Scene!
OTSL will pair your classroom with a dynamic teaching artist in residency to guide your students in creating an original musical work: from story to music to stage! Students will take on the roles of lyricists, composers, set and costume designers, performers, and more! This program can be combined with core content areas to create a multidisciplinary experience heightening students’ depth of learning!

WUSlam Poetry Workshop
Are you ready to be heard and have fun with words? Join our Slam Poetry Class designed just for middle schoolers! This exciting workshop is all about discovering your unique voice and sharing your stories through poetry.
You’ll learn from members of WashU’s Premiere Slam Poetry Group, WUSlam, how to create powerful poems that come to life with rhythm and emotion. We’ll start at the basics on the page and work our way up to the stage! This workshop includes fun writing games, useful performance and public speaking activities, and provides a friendly, supportive space to share our creations and get comfortable expressing ourselves.
Whether you’re a first-timer or love to write, this class is for you! Come make new friends, unleash your creativity, and get ready to step up to the mic. At the end of the program, we will put on a slam for families, friends and peers to attend. Your words matter—let’s make them shine!
