The questions below are meant to answer the most frequently asked questions for parents related to the various software and technology used at City Academy. ALMA

  1. You should have received an email from notifications@getalma.com. This email contains your username (firstname.lastname) and a link to set your password.
  2. Click on the link and follow the instructions for setting your password. Your password must be between 7-30 characters and it must match 3 of the following 4 requirements:
    • Letter
    • Number
    • Capital Letter
    • Character (!@#$%^&*)
  3. Once you have successfully set your password you will be redirected to your Alma homepage where you can log in! You can bookmark the log in page for easier future access. Your Alma homepage: cityacademyschool.getalma.com

What is my username?
Your username is typically your firstname.lastname. Your school administrator has access to this information and can tell you your username as well.

Help! I can’t remember my password!
That’s ok! There is a ‘Forgot Password’ link that you can click on your Alma homepage. This will allow you to reset your password. You will just need to know both your username and email associated with the account.

I’ve been locked out of my account…
An account becomes locked after incorrectly entering your username and/or password 5 times. There is a warning message letting you know how many attempts you have left. If you see that you are getting close to running out of chances, you may want to click the ‘Forgot Password’ link. Otherwise, you will get locked out of your account. Only your school admin
will be able to unlock your account.

Why can’t I access my homepage?
Make sure that you are logging in from a desktop computer or tablet (no smartphones) and using the browser Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Still can’t access your homepage? Did you type “www” before your school URL? If so, type in the school URL without the “www” and you should be able to access the homepage!

Alma Now – the ALMA app for your phone

While Alma has always been (and will continue to be) a mobile-friendly site, you can now install the app, Alma Now. Alma Now is a progressive web app (PWA).

What is a progressive web app (PWA)?

PWAs are quickly becoming the new standard for mobile applications. PWAs keep the behavior consistent between the website and the app, they are secure, and they load faster compared to traditional apps. You will be able to install the Alma Now app directly from the website and since it isn’t downloaded from an app store you will never need to update it (you will always be accessing the most current release of Alma).

How do I install Alma Now?

Navigate to https://cityacademyschool.getalma.com/ and follow the instructions for your phone listed below:

How do I log into Alma Now?

You will be using the exact same username and password for Alma Now that you use for Alma. To protect student, staff, and parent information, the app will ask you to login after 60 minutes of inactivity.

During the Re-enrollment process and when completing the Back to School Forms, you will have the chance to update all your contact information in ALMA. Take a moment to carefully review the details in your application. Should you identify any discrepancies, use this opportunity to make the necessary edits.

Outside of the re-enrollment period, if there are changes to your email, phone number, or address throughout the school year, please promptly contact klowery@cityacademystl.org with the updated information. Maintaining accurate records is crucial for effective communication and coordination. Your cooperation in keeping your contact details current contributes to the overall efficiency of our systems. 

Emergency notifications are messages sent out at the school-wide level (snow days, lockdown, special event, etc.) that the administration wants to communicate to parents. You cannot opt out of these messages but you can decide how you’d like to receive them:

  • Phone Call: You will get a phone call to the first number listed in your profile.
  • Text Message: You will get a text message to the first number listed in your profile with the SMS box checked.

By clicking on your initials in the upper-right-hand corner, you can access the notifications preferences.

It is important to ensure that you can access all your City Academy students through a single Alma account. In the event that you observe a student missing from your Alma dashboard, kindly reach out to sdooley@cityacademystl.org for assistance. Please provide the necessary details, and we will work to promptly resolve any discrepancies in your student listings.

How to Find the Summer at City Registration Form

1. Log in to your ALMA account at cityacademyschool.getalma.com

2. Find the student name and locate the tab ALMA Start Forms and Task.

If you do not see the ALMA Start Forms and Task tab, please contact mhuff@cityacademystl.org.

3. Click ALMA Start Forms and Task which will take you to your ALMA Start account. On the left hand side, click the student name and check that the student name is towards the top of the page. Click Begin New Process.

4. Find the school year Summer 2023 and select the student’s upcoming grade. The form Summer at City Registration Form will populate and you will click SELECT.

5. Once the form is complete, don’t forget to SUBMIT!

6. Once the finance department processes your registration, you will receive the $100 registration fee invoice via email and it will be posted in your ALMA Fees tab. For more information about how to pay fees, please visit the Summer at City website. 

Magnus

All required medical forms for new City Academy students will be made available through Magnus Health. All requirements for new and returning students can be found and should be submitted via Magnus. In addition to the state mandated requirements, all students, in all grades, must have updated health questionnaires, medication permission forms, and action plans as applicable.  All requirements will be available in Magnus and are due before the first day of the school year.

When your enrollment paperwork has been completed, you will receive an email from Magnus Health explaining how to activate your Magnus Health account.

New Families:

  1. You will receive a Welcome Email from Magnus with a username and a link to set up your password.

Please note that for security purposes, this link will expire after seven days of receiving it in your mailbox. If you are unable to login and update your password in the first seven days, you may reset your password by:

  • Clicking on “reset password” on the expiration notice. A reset password email will be sent to you. NOTE, this link will expire in one hour.
  • Or you may contact Magnus Helpdesk at 1-877-461-6831 or klowery@citycademystl.org and request another welcome email which will give you a new seven-day window to create your password

2. Once the email is opened you may create a password

  • Click on the Orange Link, “Create Password”
  • Click on the Blue Link, “Click here to access your account”
  • Click on the pop-up box “Accept Terms and Conditions”
  • Close out the video
  • Hover over your name at the top of the page to change your password
  •  Leave the username blank (this is the username you received in the email)
  • Create a new password

3. After your initial login you can access Magnus
